A digital density specific gravity meter is a device designed for measuring the specific gravity of liquids in various industries such as pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical, and more. There are two types of density specific gravity meters, portable and benchtop models. A portable density specific gravity meter offers temperature compensation to report the specific gravity or the density at a selected temperature, while the benchtop models have a built-in Peltier thermostat to bring the sample to the selected temperature.
With the portable Densito’s bright, color display, excellent visibility both indoors and outdoors is achieved. Multiple sequential measurements can be performed with ease thanks to the instrument’s lightweight and ergonomic design.
The measurement is done automatically, after a short time the result is displayed in specific gravity or even in other units (e.g. density, or concentration) if required. The accuracy of the measurement ranges from 0.001 (portable density specific gravity meter) to 0.00001 (benchtop density meter).
Specific gravity density meters simplify routine measurements and instantly identify acceptable samples by setting up a range of tolerable limits for the sample. Color-coded results allow the user to quickly identify if a measurement is within or out of limits.

The DensitoPro density meter comes with an RFID and barcode reader, allowing for a simple point-and-shoot sample ID entry. A cable-free Bluetooth® printer allows for printing on the go (sold in USA and Europe).
A guided workflow can be created with predefined instructions in any language (EN, ZH, DE, ES, FR, IT, PT, RU, ID, KO, PL, TH, TR) which the operator can follow, confirming each step by pressing “OK”.
We support and service your measurement equipment through its entire life-cycle, from installation to preventive maintenance and calibration to equipment repair.
Our digital handheld density meter is fast and accurate, with measurements results within seconds and an accuracy of 0.001 g/cm3. The built-in electric sampling pump allows for controlled sampling and rinsing at the press of a button, avoiding user dependent sampling workflows. Digitally supported workflows include entering sample entry with a barcode reader or RFID reader, QC with automatic passed/failed information and export of data to a printer or a PC software, reduce transcription errors and save time. In summary, a digital density specific gravity meter offers faster, more accurate and operator independent measurement results.
Yes, in addition to density and specific gravity, our digital density specific gravity meter has built-in conversion tables for Ethanol (Alcohol), Brix, API, Baumé, H2SO4, Plato, Proof (US and IP) and user-defined concentration.
Our portable specific gravity meters offer built-in temperature compensation to measure the sample at any temperature between 0°C and 50°C (32°F to 122°F) and calculate the density at the required temperature (e.g. 20°). The benchtop specific gravity meters have a built-in Peltier thermostat to bring the sample to the selected temperature.
Digital density meters use the oscillation tube technology to measure very accurately the density of a sample in a short time. Only a small amount of sample is required to fill the measuring cell (approx. 2 mL).
Density is defined as the mass of a substance divided by it’s volume, and is expressed in g/cm3, kg/m3 or lb/ft3.
Specific gravity (SG) is the ratio between the density of a substance and the density of water and has no unit.
